Tracking the Nelson Regional Economy
The Nelson Regional Development Agency publishes a six-monthly review of the region’s economic performance. Currently Tracking the Nelson Regional Economy reports on a number of indicators within the four principal areas the NRDA tracks: economy, environment, society and culture. To create a base for comparison, three other regions similar to Nelson are used, rather than national comparisons that are skewed by Auckland and the other larger metropolitan areas. The comparison regions are: Bay of Plenty, Gisborne/Hawke’s Bay and Otago.
The report provides readers, funders, partners and other stakeholders with up-to-date and consistent information on how well the Nelson region’s economy is performing.
How the report can be used:
- enhance understanding of the region’s makeup
- strategic decision making
